Hi,

 

We have definitely been having fun in the sun. We took a leisurely boat ride up to another resort and hired a Surrey bike which takes 4 people and peddled our way round, which was a lot of fun, then went off to the Animal Lodges at Animal Kingdom for dinner at an African restaurant called Sunaa, which came highly recommended by a chap we had been chatting with and was really good!!!!!!!!!!!! Today we went to Hollywood for a few hours this morning then back to Saratoga for some time by the pool and now are getting ready to go to a dinner show called Spirit of Aloha at the Polynisian resort which we did 3 years ago and was really good.

Hi from Disney

Hi all,

 

This is our 4th day here now and boy have we been busy. So far we have been to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and today have just got back from the Magic Kingdom. Natasha and Adam wanted some time by the pool to relax with a cool drink (not sure yet if they’ve any energy left today for a swim). I decided that as this was our 4th trip, I needn’t go mad with the pictures so left my big camera at home and for once, I’ve actually enjoyed the rides without snapping away. That’s not stopped me completely though, so will load the few pictures I’ve taken.

 

Hope all is okay back home, please if you’re having good weather, don’t use it all up.

Having fun in Portugal

Hi,

 

We’ve been here about six days now and are enjoying the sunshine, although at times the sun is quite intense. Had a good mix of being busy and enjoying quiet relaxing times at the villa by the pool.  The guys are off playing golf and Adam’s had fun driving the golf cart round the course.  On Thursday we met up with our friends Jane, Neil, Emma and Kirsty, who are also out here on holiday although they’re staying about a 50min drive from us. We had a great day with them, then they came back for a swim and the kids were happy splashing around while Jane, Jean and I enjoyed drinking our Pimms.  I’m sure we’ve all gained a few pounds with all the lovely evening meals we’ve had, Chinese tonight I think.

 

Two more nights then back to England, hope the weather improves before we return, we’ve been spoilt now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday 16th

Hi,

 

Well our holiday is almost over, it is 11pm here now and just getting ready to go to bed. We have an early start tomorrow, got to pack then have the drive back to Miami (should be about 5 hours). We’re catching an overnight flight to Heathrow, arriving back Saturday morning. Tasha and Adam arn’t too excited about coming home to do homework ready for school on Monday (down to earth with a bump)!!!!

Sunday 12th and Monday 13th

Hi,

 

It’s been no rest for the wicked here, Sunday we did a tour round the World Showcase at Epcot, which depicts countries from all over the world, Tash bought some chips from an English fish and chip shop (I think she’s had enough of the American food). We’re back off to China tonight, crispy duck for the kids I expect. We all had a go at Fantasia Crazy Golf, which was more crazy than usual (just what you’d expect from Disney). Monday was spent back at Hollywood Studios which has the guys favourite rides, Tower of Terror and Aerosmith Rock n Rollercoaster. I like the stunt shows best, it is amazing how crucial the timing is!!! In the evening we had a rather frustrating game of Fantasia Pitch and Putt, the ground undulates all over the place, worse than a cows udder, you never knew where the ball would end up, was more about luck than skill, (I would say that cos I didn’t win).

 

Glad you’ve got some better weather, but please save some for us when we return on Saturday.

Friday 10th and Saturday 11th

Hi all,

 

We had a quieter day on Friday, relaxing around the resort until the afternoon, then off to Downtown Disney, where Tash chose an oyster and had the pearl set in a pendant. Adam devoured a plate of huge ribs at the new T-Rex restaurant where every 20 mins the dino’s come alive moving and roaring, thankfully we managed to escape with all limbs in tact. The guys then headed off to Disney Quest for virtual fun while Tash and I went to the cinema to see the new Hannah Montana movie (which was really quite good). Saturday we were up and out early to the Magic Kingdom, where we did all sorts of rides then back to Saratoga for a Pinacolada by the pool followed by dinner in the restaurant here, quite a perfect day really!!!!!

 

Hope you are all having a good Easter despite the rain, (getting regular weather updates from Jean, thank you, it makes us enjoy the sunshine here even more and we don’t feel guilty given all the times we suffer the rain while you’re in sunny Portugal)!!!

Wed 8th and Thurs 9th

Hi,

 

We’ve had another busy couple of days. Yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom then back to Saratoga for a couple of hours rest and relaxation before going to Planet Hollywood for dinner (best food we’ve found here). Today we went to Typhoon Lagoon water park, it was very busy but an amazing place, the Americans really know how to do things in style.

 

Hope the weather you’re enjoying at home isn’t the sum total of our British summer!!

Mon 6th and Tue 7th

Hi,

We’ve had a busy couple of days. On Monday we went to Hollywood Studios where the guys got to do the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith Rock n Rollercoaster and the gals had a slightly more sedate time, doing the Artist Academy. There’s some cool stunt shows too. On Tuesday we ventured off the Disney Park and went to Gatorland, which was much bigger and better than I remembered it from 23 years ago. It was very interactive and at one point I wasn’t sure if feeding the Alligators included us for lunch!!!!!! We’ve just had a few hours at Disney Quest, 5 floors of Virtual interactive fun of every kind (Adam’s seventh heaven)!!! Off to bed now it is 11.20pm here now(4.20am for you), so night night, hope you’re having a good sleep, except Jean who is probably listening to 5live.

Epcot

Up and out early today, went to Epcot, was beautiful and sunny, the park wasn’t too crowded either, perfect. Is 5.35pm here, just about to go to Downtown Disney for a wander and dinner.
